Blogging from KM at Burns baseball

I'll be blogging updates from the Kings Mountain at Burns baseball game tonight. The Mountaineers (5-4 SWC) enter the game with a 2-game lead over the Bulldogs (3-6 SWC) for the second and final guaranteed 3A playoff berth. On top of being a contest between county rivals, I would expect this one to have a postseason atmosphere.

First pitch is slated for 7 p.m.

Play Ball

My seats were great for Monday night's home opener between the Braves and Pirates at Turner Field, but not quite close enough to get good action shots. I got a few that were worth posting, though ...

Mark Lemke, left, and Chip Carey, right during the pregame show.

Part of the big video montage on the giant Mitsubishi screen in centerfield ... a very well done piece about the history of the Braves franchise.

Javy Lopez and John Smoltz after the recently retired Lopez threw out the first pitch.

The 2008 Braves and Pirates on the baselines.

Tom Glavine's first pitch in his return start with the Braves.

Bobby Cox at the mound with catcher Brian McCann. This was a regular occurrence ... nine pitchers used by the Braves.
